BCR 6001 is the first fully electric locomotive purchased for our fleet. Designed and built by Carrs Locomotives in Port Coquitlam and delivered in June of 2005. With a 24 volt electric electric drive mounted on each of the six axles this unit is a true power platform. Controlled from a custom built control car with a speed controller and air horns this locomotive is a favorite with our staff for public events.
The full size BCR 6001 is a permanent resident in our park. Designed to work in coal haul service on the Tumbler Subdivision of the former BC Railway BCR 6001 is the only locomotive remaining of the seven 50 KV electric locomotives built by GM in 1982.
