Volunteers are our STEAM!

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of the team at the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum.

The museum relies heavily on volunteers to successfully achieve goals and milestones and we often look at our community members to assist where and when they can.

Depending on your interests and the amount of time you can spare, there are a variety of ways you can volunteer:

Volunteers from all backgrounds and age groups are welcome and anyone may apply to become a volunteer.

Please be advised that all volunteers have to do a criminal record check prior to commencing any activities at or for CBCRFM. Criminal record checks are FREE for volunteers and must be renewed every three (3) years.

As a volunteer of the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum, I will follow the Museum’s Code of Conduct and the Museum’s safety rules, policies and procedures of and on site.

All volunteers are required to complete the volunteer application/registration form. Please inform us if any of the information on this form changes. All volunteers are required to provide a criminal record check prior to commencing any activities at Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum

Criminal record checks must be renewed every three (3) years which is mandatory to comply with policies and procedures.


Code of Conduct


I understand that, as a Volunteer, I am responsible for my own behaviour and that I will read, understand, and adhere to the following guidelines while I am on the premises, inside or outside, of Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum (CBCRFM).

Youth Volunteers: under the age of 18

In order for your child/dependent to be a volunteer with Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum, we require your consent and your involvement in helping them to have a meaningful experience.

who is 17 years old or younger, do hereby authorize my child/dependent to participate in volunteer activities with Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum.

I understand that my child/dependent will be provided with the orientation and training necessary for the safe and responsible performance of my child’s/dependent’s duties and that my child/dependent will be expected to meet all the requirements of the position, including adherence to Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum’s policies and procedures.
